The next big thing XenClient?

Today I was at a seminar held by Atea, it was about Citrix´s different soultions like XenApp, XenDesktop and XenClient. One of the most interesting things I saw was probably XenClient. Finally there is a solution where you get real virtualization without the need for installing windows or something else first. You get almost raw CPU power and maybe the most important GPU power directly to the guest OS. Check on XenClient. They showed us HD video and even playing battlefield on the guest OS without any problems and he could still change between different operating systems.

Maybe one of the more interesting part in this for corporations is the it has it own Syncronizer solution. You run the Syncronizer on an XenServer and when the computer with XenClient is connected to the network it can take backup of it automatically. If the computer get stolen you can go into the syncroinzer and say that next time XenClient connects it will destroy the guest operating system.

I haven´t had time to test it by myself yet but I hope I will have it up and going over this weekend!

Alexander Ervik held a couple of the speeches today and he has written about it on his blog:

A review of mycitrixcloud.net aka Citrix Virtual Computing Demo Center
